Handyman Series: How to repair a wood privacy fence, replacing boards with or without cuts
What happens here
From the inside of the fence, use a pencil to mark the desired cut line on the new boards. The video's fence has a curved top profile. Position a small ruler or speed square at the base of the existing curve on the old boards and extend that line across the new boards. Repeat this for each new board, effectively 'freehanding' or 'eyeballing' the curve to connect the dots previously marked by the electrical tape. The goal is to create a guide for cutting the new boards to seamlessly match the fence's existing top contour.
Goal: Transfer the fence's top curve onto the new boards for cutting
