Guess What We're Building! Another Massive Earth Moving Farm Project Today!
What happens here
With all culverts in position, the dozer begins the intensive process of backfilling. Fill dirt from the nearby pile is transported and carefully spread over and around the pipes, gradually building up the bridge's embankment. This involves multiple passes of pushing, spreading, and using the weight of the 35,000+ pound Caterpillar 953C Track Loader for compaction. Large stones are strategically placed within the fill layers to provide additional reinforcement and stability, locking the entire structure together and preventing erosion, particularly from the fast-moving water during floods.
Goal: Build a stable and erosion-resistant bridge structure.
Tools and materials
- Fill Dirt Local — Creating the bridge embankment and covering the pipes
- Large Stones/Rock Local — Reinforcing the bridge structure against erosion and water flow
