Getting Turbo Yukon "Uncle Rob" Ready For Rocky Mountain Race Week! Posi Diff Install PT1: Tear Down

What happens here

With the differential cover removed, the internal pin that holds the spider gears in place is unbolted and extracted. This pin is often referred to as a "kingpin" or "daddy pin." Once the pin is removed, the axle shafts can be pushed inward slightly, revealing the C-clips (also called axle clips) that retain the axles. These small clips are then carefully removed from the grooves on the axle shafts, using a screwdriver or magnetic pickup tool if needed.

Goal: Prepare for axle removal by freeing the internal retaining components.
