Getting Turbo Yukon "Uncle Rob" Ready For Rocky Mountain Race Week! Posi Diff Install PT1: Tear Down

What happens here

To provide better access to the differential, the Panhard bar and sway bar end links are disconnected. The Panhard bar is removed by unbolting its ends from the chassis and axle. The sway bar end links are unbolted, requiring a wrench to hold the backside of the bolt while removing the nut with an impact driver. This allows the sway bar to pivot downwards, creating more working space.

Goal: Create working clearance around the differential.

and we have room to do stuff we got to take the panhard bar off to get to the diff and if we really want to we could take off the sway bar end links and just kind of like flop it down to get it out of the way too actually i think we're gonna have to do that to get this the old you know center section out and back in but i can't remember when i did this on the escalade uh i changed my control arms on a lift i can't remember if the panhard bar holds any load on it or not as far as like the dangling goes i think it's all in the shocks everything is up out of the way here the panhard bar doesn't hold any weight but the rear end will go over like i don't know a quarter inch once you pull that bolt out practice good nut discipline all back in the same spot so we don't lose them i also pulled the sway bar end links out uh you're gonna need to hold this back side with an adjustable wrench while you buzz this one off and kind of have to manhandle them out of their eyelets but once you do the sway bar will just you know turn down like that take the parking brake cable down and the these clips you know you just kind of like push on the top
