Attach Decorative Trim to U-Channel

What happens here

To add a finished and decorative edge to the U-channel beam, attach a smaller trim piece. Select a thin, pre-cut piece of wooden trim, such as a 1x2 or a simple molding strip. Align this trim piece flush against the outside face of one of the vertical sides of the U-channel. The trim can be flush with the top edge for a clean look, or slightly proud for a more decorative profile. Using the nail gun, carefully fasten this trim piece securely along the entire length of the U-channel beam with finishing nails. Ensure nails are driven straight and do not protrude through the surface.
