From Peeling Paint to Perfect Finish: Exterior Door Jamb Prep Guide

What happens here

Once the primed surface is completely dry and smooth, begin applying the first coat of Sherwin Williams Latitude Exterior Acrylic Latex paint. Use a Kodawwool 3/8" roller cover to quickly apply a coat of paint over the primed door jamb. Immediately after rolling, use a Premier Riverdale 3" brush to 'back-brush' the wet paint. This technique helps to spread the paint evenly, eliminate roller stipple, and ensure good adhesion and a smooth finish. Don't be concerned about light spots at this stage, as the second coat will address them.

Goal: Apply the initial layer of the final paint color.
