Fastest & strongest way to build floating shelves

What happens here

After routing the channel, remove the jig. Take your floating shelf bracket (the one with the rods and serrated backplate) and carefully insert its rods into the drilled holes and its backplate into the routed channel of the shelf blank. Ensure it fits snugly and sits perfectly flush. If needed, make any minor adjustments. Once satisfied with the fit, sand the entire shelf blank to your desired smoothness. Apply a protective finish (stain, paint, varnish, oil) to match your decor and protect the wood. (The video shows a quick test fit at 0:34-0:36 and then the finished shelf at 0:36-0:37).

Goal: Verify the bracket fit, then sand and apply a finish to the prepared floating shelf.
