Fast Fireplace Makeover. Rock Fireplace To Weathered Wood.

What happens here

With the furring strip grid in place, it's time to install the plywood backing. Cut plywood sheets to fit the dimensions of the fireplace sections. Working with a partner, position each plywood sheet over the furring strips and secure it using a pneumatic nailer. Drive nails at regular intervals into the furring strips to ensure a strong and stable attachment. This plywood layer provides a continuous, smooth surface for the final decorative wood planks and adds structural integrity to the refaced fireplace.

Goal: Create a continuous and stable sub-surface for decorative wood planks.
