Engine Blown? Testing the sawmill after ENGINE TROUBLES

What happens here

Using the hydraulic controls, position a log securely on the sawmill bed. Activate the saw blade and begin the first pass, cutting along one side of the log to create a flat surface. This initial cut removes the outer bark and irregular shape, producing the first flat face. Once the saw head has completed the pass, retrieve the resulting curved slab (often called a 'cant' or 'flitch') and set it aside.

Goal: Create the first flat face on the log.
