Don’t Replace your Leaking Hose Bib! Rebuild It Instead

What happens here

After all new parts are installed, place the faucet handle back onto the stem and secure it with the Phillips head screw. Once the handle is reattached, return indoors and slowly turn the main water supply valve back on. Turn it on about a quarter of the way and listen for water moving. Once water starts flowing, return outside to test the faucet. Turn the handle counter-clockwise to open the faucet and observe the water flow; there should be no leaks from around the handle or the vacuum breaker. Finally, turn the handle clockwise until it is fully shut off. A small amount of water should drip from the nozzle; this is the normal operation of a frost-free hose bib, draining water from the pipe to prevent freezing in cold weather.

Goal: Restore the faucet to full operation and verify leak-free functionality
