Installing Capstones

What happens here

Capstones are used to finish the top surface of the retaining walls, seat walls, and columns. These typically have one smooth side and one rough side. For seat walls, place the smooth side facing out where people will sit. For retaining walls or columns, you can orient them based on aesthetic preference. For columns, a 24-inch unit is often used, providing a 2-inch overhang (eyebrow effect) on a 20-inch column. There are also special A & B cap units designed by Versa-Lok for straight lines, outside curves, and inside curves.

Goal: Apply capstones to finish the top of the structures.
