DIY Guide to Everything Retaining Walls w/ Versa-Lok -Including Stairs, design, Construction & more
What happens here
Mark the block where you want the split to occur using a pencil and a speed square. Score the block all the way around, top and bottom, with a chisel and hammer. The scoring doesn't need to be deep, just enough to create a weak point. Once scored, flip the block and continue chiseling on the opposite side until the block splits. This method is used when a hydraulic splitter is not available or for minor adjustments.
Goal: Split a Versa-Lok block by hand.
