What happens here

This video provides a tour showcasing the extensive renovation of two cabins on a lake, collectively known as 'Shangri-La Lodge.' The project involved gutting the original structures and rebuilding them with unique, nature-inspired, and reclaimed elements. The creator highlights distinctive DIY features such as a custom central marina, a wood-fired sauna, bespoke log work harvested from the property, the integration of 200-year-old reclaimed barn wood, hand-laid stone walls, a unique 'cave' themed bathroom with a skylight, and interactive chalkboard walls. The lodge is designed for single-family rentals, offering a cohesive and rustic yet modern aesthetic.

All right, guys. I'm going to give you a tour of Shangri-La Lodge. I bought the absolute worst cabin on the lake and completely renovated it. That one and that one and then as if that wasn't enough work, I ended up buying the one across from it. That one there and renovating that one as well. Now, I put two docks together to create a central marina system. And this is actually meant to be a VRBO rented by one single family. And this is a wood-fired sauna. This is the central fire pit and then this allows two families to come in, have their own space and rent it, but it can't be rented by two separate families. It's got to be rented by one family together. And I'll show you some of the interesting details that Frankie and I did. We harvested the logs right from the property, debarked them, notched them and used them to add details into the house. Then the wood like this right here, this actually came from a barn that we salvaged and then reused that. So, those beams are about 200 years old. And then as we go inside, we use specific logs just to trim out the windows and doors to make it more interesting. As we go inside, the central island is just a massive log that we slabbed. And this entire kitchen, none of this existed. This entire property was basically gutted right down to nothing and we started all over again. And then like central beams like this, that's barn wood we salvaged and saved. This is logs that we pulled off from the property. Every single stone you see in here, we hand laid in place. This log right here, actually we found a curved log so we could actually make it go up and around the loft and add it in there. Then we did some little things like put chalk paint on the walls. So, when a family comes in, they can add their own art. It makes it fun for the kids. You know what I mean? And And as we come this way, this is the main bedroom right here. We put a patio door in so when you wake up, you can just open the drapes, see the lake, go right out onto the deck. How cool is that? And then back in here, this is the cave bedroom bathroom, I mean. Some people love it, some people hate it. I built it for myself. I wanted to feel like you're showering in a tropical garden. So I created uh put a a skylight in my shower room. And then here I actually ideally I wanted to have plants in here so that it would just be filled with plants while you're showering. It just felt very tropical and lush. The wife actually explained that idea. Oh well, not everything goes right. This is your main laundry room here and then behind me is what we call the white room. So we put in a skylight in here and have your own separate ba- bedroom here. You can walk straight out like the other bedroom into the main room. And then this cabin has bedroom there and there. And it's on VRBO if you want to check it out.
