What happens here

This project guides you through creating a simple, custom jig for a router to cut perfect circles. By attaching a wooden extension to the router's base, measuring the desired radius, and using a pivot screw, a standard plunge router can be transformed into a precise circle-cutting tool for various woodworking tasks.

Here's how to cut a perfect circle with a router. Let's get after it. Start out by cutting a piece of wood that'll fit on your base plate like that. Take the four screws out of your base plate, take your base plate off, and throw it on your wood. Now, take a pen, pencil, whatever you got, and just mark your holes. Going to look something like that. Our four screw holes, and our one big one in the middle. Like get a drill bit roughly the size of your screws, and drill at your four corners. Now, up your bit size. Get a little bit bigger bit so the head is countersunk in the piece of wood. Only drill about halfway. Mark the center of your hole, take a hole saw bit, and punch right through it. There you go. Fasten this piece of wood onto your router. So, now we want to measure the center of our circle out to the end, which is our radius, 6 in. So, make sure our blade is at the biggest possible place it could be, and measure 6 in out from our blade. Now, this board is 3 and 1/2 in. So, find inch and 3/4. Right there is where we're going to put our screw. I'm going to take a screw, I'm going to run it right through our middle here. Come over to our circle, put our screw in the hole that we just drilled, and also in the center of the circle. Make sure you don't suck that down cuz we want to be able to rotate on here. Set the depth of your plunge router. Bring that down to zero, tighten. There you go. Energize, safety glasses. There you have it. There's how to cut an absolutely perfect circle with the router using only a little jig I made at home. Anyways, I got stuff to do. I'll catch you guys later. Peace.
