What happens here

This video details the process undertaken by residential electricians to replace a faulty electrical meter socket and reconnect a home's 200-amp electrical service to the utility grid. The project involves working with live high-voltage wires, installing a new meter box, terminating large gauge conductors, and ensuring the system is safely and correctly re-energized.

All right, day in the life as an electrician installing a residential 200 amp service. Let's go. So, first thing I do is I wake up, get on my tool bag, drink a 5h hour energy. These are great and fast cuz we electricians are blue collar and I need all the energy I can get. So, we get to the customer's house and the customer said that their meter socket was no good as the utility stopped by and said that their meter had a jaw tension failure, which basically means the inside of the box was going bad, so we had to get it replaced. Here was the 200 amp electrical panel on the other side of the wall. The panel was okay, so we didn't need to touch it. My bro Ken is below installing the new 200 amp meter box and I'm currently prepping the weather head of the service by stripping the wires to connect back to the utility. Here's the new meter box. We got our wires terminated, two hot wires and one neutral wire. The size of the wire was four out aluminum which is rated for 200 amps. This service is in 2-in rigid pipe, so it ain't going anywhere. My bro Ken got the wires all bugged back to the utility, and I'm below putting the meter back in. Utility wire was live, so we had to be careful. I need to get over my fear of wire bugging a service cuz I still have never done one. And if you're an electrician, you know you need a pair of iron balls to do it. And it takes time. Job complete. Customer is satisfied. Do a celebration. And that is what a day in the life of an electrician looks like.
