What happens here
Before installing the coping treads, ensure the existing concrete steps are clean and structurally sound. Apply a generous layer of high-strength, exterior-grade mortar or a construction adhesive specifically designed for stone to the surface of the concrete steps. Carefully set each "natural stone coping tread" onto the wet mortar bed, ensuring it is perfectly level, plumb, and has a slight forward pitch (about 1/8 inch per foot) to allow for water drainage. Use shims if necessary to achieve the correct slope and alignment. Allow the mortar or adhesive to cure fully according to the manufacturer's instructions before proceeding.
Goal: Cover existing concrete steps with natural stone coping treads.
