Concrete Look With Venetian Plaster. Not What I Expected!

What happens here

To create the varied texture and lighter tones, mix a small amount of white paint directly into the remaining Venetian plaster from the first coat. Stir thoroughly until a desired lighter shade is achieved. Using a trowel, apply this newly tinted plaster in random blotches, swirls, and light passes over the dried first coat. The goal is not uniform coverage but rather to create visual interest and depth with varying shades and textures, simulating a natural, imperfect concrete look. Allow this second coat to dry completely. If the result is too textured, a third, smoother burnish coat can be applied to blend the textures further.

Goal: This step involves mixing white paint with the remaining Venetian plaster to create a lighter, contrasting shade, which is then applied in blotches and swirls to create a textured and varied finish.

so the first coat of plaster is fully cured and fully dry now we're going to do the second coat and a second coat we're gonna have to get a little bit of a artistic because this is a uniform color it is gray which is cool and it's a Concrete texture that's great but it doesn't look like it doesn't have all the like the imperfections of concrete so we're going to change that so to brighten it up a little bit or to create these imperfections we're going to use a little bit of a white paint and mix it into this batch and kind of create these like swirl marks boy I hope I don't overdo it let's do a little bit at a time and see how far that gets us [Music] and because it's going to dry even lighter I want to go a little bit more aggressive with that tinting here all right that's the one that's not that's enough contrast for it okay so now the idea is just gonna try to basically blotch it up with swivel marks [Music] to be honest with you I don't know how this is going to turn out because because there's two different layers it almost looks like stucco fingers crossed and I'm not feeling that happy right now foreign [Music]
