Plan Patio Steps Redesign
At 0:00 in
Built this project for my mom, she previously had pretty dangerous wooden steps
What happens here
Begin by carefully assessing the existing wooden steps and the overall patio layout. Note the height difference between the door threshold and the patio surface, as well as the dimensions of the available space. Identify problem areas, such as narrow step treads or immediate adjacency to patio furniture, which the video highlights as dangerous. Measure the patio area and the existing step footprint. Conceptualize a new design that incorporates wider steps, a more spacious landing, and potentially integrated planter boxes, aiming for a "walk-out flat" feel to improve safety and flow. Sketch out the desired layout and dimensions, considering materials like Unilock Rivercrest for the blocks and Copthorne pavers for the landing.
Goal: Create a detailed plan for replacing the old wooden steps with a new paver step and landing system.
