Building Backyard WATERFALL FEATURE

What happens here

Measure and cut angle iron pieces to fit the vertical and horizontal edges of the cedar cladding. Use a metal chop saw with a diamond blade for precise cuts and an angle grinder to smooth any sharp edges or rough spots. Once cut and smoothed, clean the metal with acetone, then prime it using Krylon ColorMaxx Gray Primer, and paint it with Krylon Fusion Satin Black spray paint. Allow sufficient drying time for the primer and paint. Finally, drill pilot holes and secure the painted metal trim pieces to the cedar cladding using a drill and screws.

Goal: Add a decorative and protective metal trim to the water feature

so i picked up the angle iron this is inch and a half width it's an eighth of an inch thick that's usually the thinnest you can get so i'm going to use my diamond blade chop saw here which is nice doesn't create any sparks and then we're going to start basically creating all the cuts i'll tape it momentarily so it stays in place but then we're gonna grind off the corners drill holes for the screws prime it and then paint it just for now we'll just do all of our main cuts that looks really good what do you guys think let me know i i think this looks perfect if you guys don't have by the way a uh a miter metal cutting saw what you can do is easily get yourself a circular saw just give yourself a better battle not a word metal cutting blade um you get one for like 30 bucks [Music] you might be wondering you croc wearing lunatic why are you staining metal well this is a hot rolled steel so it will have these flakes on it as part of the cooling process so i'm going to sand the flakes off just to keep the coarseness off then we'll prime it then we'll shoot it with paint oh and also put the screw holes in because you know we gotta know how to go in [Music] okay there are paints that are both paint and primer but it's a little bit of primer so the best part is to always use an extra primer just to prevent things from peeling not to mention this is outside so i uh i like your outfit for work today i need some boots some boots well crocs i respect that people like that that's a lot of good work i got all these metal pieces all ready uh primed grinded down and then i have a box of screws so we'll get you a drill okay um and i'll get a drill as well and then we'll tag team put this on did you spray paint the screws i did not um mistake well you'll do that [Music] let me wipe it out look at the camera and say you were right the silver screws look better silver i was right they do look better sometimes i have a good idea
