Building a 2 story deck gets scary fast 4K

[Music] foreign [Music] guys now if you're just tuning in we are building a second story handcrafted deck and when I mean handcrafted we are pulling the lumber and materials for the main gist of this deck out of our old scrap pile from the farm across the road so without wasting more time let's Dive Right into today's video [Music] now one of the things that we are doing that is a little different is the actual structural components of the deck itself the framework is going to be built all out of green treated Timbers but the support beams the hand railing the top railing everything else is completely recycled materials thank you [Music] foreign I got some six sensors there whatever you're gonna have to grab [Music] to make the railing I wanted something that would highlight the rest of the black on the house but I didn't want to spend six to seven dollars per post every one of those little spindles everywhere I found when I was looking for custom spindles the price was just out of the ballpark so I found a big box store that had cheap spindles for almost less than a dollar per spindle and that's what I opted for and then to create that custom look I matched the top and bottom rail of the handrail with the rest of the decor of the house so it's all stained to match and go together succinctly [Music] foreign [Music] we want to make the house look like it's sitting on a log beam so we need to have part of a log exposed at the end of the house right up in the peak we happen to have a few extra pieces set aside to play with from when we were siding the rest of the house so we're gonna cut one of these down and put it up in place just to see what it looks like [Music] oh let's angle this more or something thing but all right the lift is loaded up and getting ready to go home to top-notch equipment so we're doing things the old-fashioned way what are you doing okay I'm gonna put it here and then you can hand it to me you're supposed to wait for me yeah Frankie can't wait you think after what 63 years you would have learned patience Frankie I'm not sure time do some sketchy time to do some sketchy sketchy sketchy time to do some sketchy success wait what you're so stupid why would you do that why would you build a deck with no access well we would do that because it's not just a deck it's a decoration okay hold on let me get into a position yep I'm gonna go straight up this okay I got it set it right on the Hammerhead yep maybe a touch all right you got the ladder drill now we need the ladder next you guys want to know why Frankie drives me nuts half the time okay do you think I can stop him I could I mean I could physically stop him from doing crap like this but that's not in Frankie's Pollock nature can we at least put a safety harness or something I got a safety harness I'm gonna bring them I had them that's the one I took out of there I might as well he doesn't even listen to me he doesn't he doesn't even acknowledge I'm speaking half the time Zach he's late as a feather if he fell he'd probably float down apparently I've had first because yeah look up below he would probably hurt that one would hurt all right well our final log is going up right now sticking that out there so it's making it look like the house is being held up by logs but it's not but that's calling it for this video hope you guys enjoyed watching us build this crazy second floor decoration I'm calling it a decoration again because there's no access to it and it really was just to dress up the front of the house and give it a little bit more appearance so let me know what you think of what we did and we'll go from there whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa what do you mean wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait what do you mean you have no access to the deck you build a deck but have no way of getting up to it yes that's actually a fact because I'm not done with this project yet and you guys decide the next step in this project do I build a circular staircase on the outside of the house maybe I take a log or I do some freaking crazy thing and try to build a circular staircase to get up and at it or do I cut in a secret door from the inside of the house so that I can gain access to the outside of the deck or do I do some kooky third thing that you guys come up with all on your own I don't care how I gain access to this deck the deck is built it was fun to do it dressed up the front of the house and now it gives me the opportunity to do something cool down the road that I expect you guys to help me figure out that's why I did this so you guys tell me in the comments down below circular staircase secret door or some crazy third thing that you guys think of let me know that's it for this one God bless go get em you guys
