Budget Turbo Yukon XL 4L80 Conversion: The Transmission Crossmember Mod! (100k Play Button Unboxing)

What happens here

Locate the stock crossmember under the vehicle. Identify the side that corresponds to the driver's side by finding the existing dent designed to clear the driveshaft. Position the crossmember to estimate where it needs to be cut. The plan is to cut the crossmember into three pieces: two end pieces that bolt to the frame and a middle section. Mark the precise cut locations on the crossmember using a marker. The cut will be made to allow new filler plates to extend the crossmember backward.

Goal: Identify and mark the precise cut locations on the stock crossmember.

Tools and materials

uh first we are just gonna hold it up just eyeball it here so this side goes on the driver's side because it has the dent in it for the drive shaft we're gonna put it up here well i don't need to shove that side in the whole way to know where this has to go uh pretty much we're just gonna make a cut like right here and right here and go from there um so i'm gonna get a marker mark this out and uh get to cutting so we just got a regular old uh hobo freight abrasive chop saw i've used this thing for like a bazillion things uh i use this thing the only other time i've ever done this on my buddy justin sables pro charge denali uh probably three years ago and i found that the last time i did it i used metal in here that was thicker than the blade and it kind of pushed the bolt holes out a little bit so i had less wiggle room so this time i made sure i didn't get metal that was thicker than the blade because the blade it's not cutting so much that's grinding away a slice so it's going to take material out which will make it shorter but when you add the material back in for the plate that we're going to use to extend it
