Budget Turbo Yukon: Cold Side Fabrication and Hot Side Welding (Pipe Cutting & Layout Tips)

What happens here

The engine's fan clutch is removed to create additional clearance for the turbocharger piping. This is done by using vice grips to secure a component and then using a crescent wrench to loosen the fan clutch nut, followed by tapping it with a hammer.

Goal: Create space by removing the fan clutch for pipe installation

Tools and materials

  • Crescent Wrench — Loosening the fan clutch nut
  • Hammer — Tapping the crescent wrench to break the nut loose
  • Vice Grips — Securing a component to prevent rotation while loosening the fan clutch nut

look at it guys how to get the clutch fan off get it broken loose and what i did is i just put a vise grip in here and then you know crescent wrench boom like that and then bang on it with a hammer what kept happening is the vice grip kept getting like you know twist down and i was like okay well what the heck it would twist down i put it back it twist on i put it back and then i thought maybe if i just keep banging on it it'll just wedge itself in there and i won't have to do that well that's what happened it just wedged itself in there and the fan clutch hub nut thingy actually came with this is about how we took it off the first time which was harder because it had never come off but i was actually surprised at how tight this was when we screwed it back on there we just screwed it on and just didn't actually like try to tighten it because the wind force of the motor turning would just inherently tighten it it tightens it a lot so this method will work even if it has never uh never come off before but now that that's done get this the rest of the way off here to do happily happy that this is actually working this way it's not the most efficient
