BLUE TAPE isn't for Everyone! MASKING TO PAINT

What happens here

The video begins by introducing blue masking tape and questioning its necessity, noting its higher cost compared to other tapes. The speaker shares his professional experience of routinely removing all masking (paper, plastic, tape) daily to avoid a 'construction zone' feel for clients, with exceptions for multi-day floor masking. He then introduces production tapes as a more affordable alternative to blue tape.

Goal: This step introduces the concept of masking tape in painting, highlighting the professional practice of daily tape removal and introducing less expensive 'production tapes' as an alternative.

I want to talk about whether you should use a blue tape or not this really expensive stuff And I'll tell you why I have and have not used blue tape in the past in my career I've been painting for over 18 years now and I was got very accustomed to just removing the tape every day Paper plastic everything because I didn't want my customers coming home and feeling like they're in a construction zone So I just pulled all the paper and tape now when I say always there were always exceptions to the rule and one of them Is masking on to say floors and putting paper down on floors which is going to be there for multiple days But I got accustomed to using what we call production tapes and production tapes are your less expensive tapes That don't have what we call a longer release and one of the production tapes we use it It's CP 199 from sure tape and it has a three-day release and I'll talk about you know releases here in just a moment But you know we didn't use very often we didn't use like higher release tapes that have longer days like a blue tape
