Barn Find Vice Comes Back to life! Rusty Gold!
What happens here
Begin by removing the retaining ring (circlip) located on the main screw mechanism using needle-nose pliers. Once the retaining ring is off, fully unscrew the main vise screw by turning its handle counter-clockwise until it detaches from the vise body. Carefully pull out the entire main screw assembly. Next, use an Allen wrench to remove the two Allen bolts that secure the rotating base to the main vise body. Lift the main vise body off the rotating base. Remove any friction plates or washers found at the bottom of the main body or on the rotating base.
Goal: Break down the vise into its individual components for cleaning.
