All that metal is code, but we like to add this scab to help keep our post/beam acting as one unit!

What happens here

With the horizontal beam and the angled brace in place, drive more screws to reinforce the connections. Drive one screw through the top surface of the horizontal beam into the vertical post. Then, drive another screw from the face of the vertical post into the horizontal beam, likely targeting the metal bracket or a specific point for added strength. These screws contribute to the load-bearing capacity and overall stability.

Goal: Drive additional screws into the structural connections to further secure the horizontal beam and the metal bracket (if used) to the vertical post.
