What happens here

This project details the meticulous process of correctly removing a swimming pool that was improperly decommissioned by a previous contractor. The main tasks involve extracting buried garbage and non-structural fill, separating reusable organic soil, carefully removing metal side walls by folding them for efficient transport, and thoroughly compacting the sub-base with compression compaction to prevent future settlement issues.

you're good to go so another contractor was hired to come out and start this project and his solution to removing the swimming pool was to import a whole bunch of garbage and fill it up and then to bury it under a bunch of non structural fill soil so today this guy's made our job a whole lot harder [Music] [Applause] [Music] we carefully separate the garbage from the nasty black soil that's on top because that actually is organic and parts of that soil can be reused in the upper layer of the swimming pool to help this customer grow some grass might as well make a silk purse out of a sow's ear whenever we can so let's take a look at this from down below Oh baby you would [Music] yeah you got it before we can remove the sidewalls we have to go what we call fishing and that means we have to just start rooting around looking for buried debris because we don't know how much stuff was left out when we remove the sideboards we fold it up as tight as possible that way we can get more on a truck we also want to try to eliminate as much dirt as possible because it's just more we would have to import otherwise so everything gets folded cleaned and sorted and separated before it gets loaded up and hauled out now before the next piece can come out we want to make sure that all of the garbage debris that is behind the sidewalls doesn't accidentally fall into our soil so you're gonna see that he's using the grapple to gently rake apart all of the concrete debris in chunks before he attempts to take out the next sideboard [Music] some cities will allow you to actually bury debris when you remove a swimming pool no it's our company policy that we don't do that because all of them little bits of debris can lead to settlement and problems years later so we do everything we can D I'm gonna guess he's gonna jump all that material in the middle out [Music] [Applause] [Music] but we don't want even that concrete chunks in the [Music] that [Music] faithfulness [Music] or he's not sometimes I don't know what he's gonna do [Music] so right now he's fishing for any very concrete he doesn't want any of that left so the reason he's even sorting the dirt is that black dirt will get reused in the organic upper layer of the swimming pool but in the lower layers where we consider to be the structural zone we're pretty picky about what we allow down in that area so you'll see him driving back and forth and what he's doing is he's using compression compaction to settle the soil in place so that we don't have any future problems down the road now we would not we've experienced where you can compact a swimming pool too much and not grow grass so we've got to be careful that we use just the right amount of compaction and compression compaction has never failed us yet [Music] now every swimming pool is built differently but a lot of them have a concrete footing down at the base of their support we've got to excavate all of the soil away from that footing so that we can then remove it and that's gonna happen on the next video so make sure you guys stick around for the next one and that's all we've got for you today guys god bless and go get them and next time we're gonna be tearing out all of the concrete in this swimming pool so he grabs that it's going to probably take the whole back end of his machine like when you're trying to rip out a footing your whole body tenses up like all you're literally doing is holding the controls of the machine but the harder the machine works the more you can tense up as an operator all right you guys hitter operators talk to me in the comments down below tell me does that actually happen to you guys because it happens to me all the time
