A concrete truck is ALWAYS worth it. #concrete #slab

What happens here

Begin by having the wet concrete delivered into the pre-constructed wooden formwork. In this video, a mini excavator is used to carefully dump portions of concrete into the trench-like form. As the concrete is delivered, use a long-handled concrete rake or hoe to immediately begin spreading the wet concrete. This involves pushing, pulling, and chopping the concrete to ensure it flows into all corners of the formwork, achieving a relatively even distribution and preventing large piles from forming. This initial spreading prepares the concrete for consolidation.

Goal: Fill the formwork with concrete and roughly distribute it

Tools and materials

  • Concrete Rake/Hoe — Spreading and roughly leveling the wet concrete within the formwork
  • Mini Excavator — Transporting and dumping wet concrete into the formwork
  • Wooden Formwork — Containing the wet concrete to shape the footing or wall
  • Wet Concrete — Filling the formwork to create the structural footing
