What happens here
After a section of wallpaper has been adequately steamed and the adhesive softened, immediately use a wallpaper scraper or a wide putty knife. Position the scraper at a shallow angle, typically around 30 degrees, against the steamed section of the wallpaper. Gently yet firmly push and scrape the loosened wallpaper off the wall. Work in small, manageable sections, taking care not to gouge or damage the drywall surface underneath. Continue to steam and scrape adjacent sections until all the wallpaper is removed from the desired area. For stubborn spots, re-apply steam briefly to loosen them further.
