Don't Kill Your Grass. Tips To Keep it Green.

[Applause] [Music] this crazy Idaho painter here on paint live TV today I'm going to give you a simple little tip and that's how to not kill your customers grass so we've got a situation here we're working on a deck had concrete and everything we got that we were working on the deck and concrete moved everything out on the grass on patio furniture stuff like that we moved a door mat on the grass not this one but one like this it's over 100 degrees by 103 degrees outside something like this is going to get extremely hot this happened in about an hour so it kills the grass it gets really hot things like um buckets turned upside down drop cloths even though drop cloth is not black it does get hot you turn a bucket upside down it gets hot inside the bucket it's going to kill the grass so you know when it's above 80 degrees I would recommend not putting anything out on the grass that could heat up and possibly kill the grass give you once again some some things that's happened to me in the past we've turned buckets upside down to do downspouts and some other things like that it's killed circles in the grass we put drop cloths on there when we're spraying a door and the drop cloth got really hot killed the grass so it really just depends on you know how hot it is outside once again a thing like this this door mat this thing is blazing hot it was sitting on the concrete even though it's got holes on it it's going to heat up enough and it's going to kill the grass so specifically don't put door mats on the grass if it's above 80 degrees because I'll tell you from experience it's happened to me three times before we killed the spot in the grass like this you know and once again it's not it's an unsightly thing it's kind of embarrassing it's going to mow out about two mowings and it'll come out it doesn't kill the roots but it does make the customers grass not look so good for a while wow so simple little tip when it's hot don't put stuff on the grass
