72 LSA Monte Carlo Boom Tube NASCAR Exhaust FIRST DRIVE! (Fab Process & Finishing Touches)

What happens here

The old taillight bulb sockets are reconnected after discovering that previously installed LEDs had melted. The turn signals, however, remain non-functional. Diagnostics suggest the problem might stem from a faulty flasher relay or an incomplete electrical loop, possibly linked to the neutral start switch due to previous modifications (a column shift car converted to a floor shifter). A test light is used to trace wiring paths and identify power delivery to the turn signal circuit.

Goal: Restore full functionality to the car's rear lighting system.

Tools and materials

  • LED Flasher — Testing the turn signal circuit
  • Old Taillight Bulb Sockets — Replacing melted LED lights
  • Test Light — Tracing electrical power through the wiring harness
  • Wire Stripper — Working with electrical wires

the heat exchanger pump is also working. Once we have these fans hooked up, we will assemble the taillights and tackle the exhaust system. Let's grab the exhaust by welding. I think Aaron from the auto repair shop will be by later today, hopefully, and give me some advice on what to do with this wing. So, I'm plugging in the old taillight bulb sockets that I cut out to install the melted LEDs. A solid sum. By the way, I actually posted a video of this a few months after it happened, at the request of you in the comments, when I remembered that I had filmed the whole mess but never posted it because it made me angry. I thought: you know what? I'll explain this. So it's there. It is in the playlist " off". You can still see where it melted. I still do n't know why this happened. We still don't know why the turn signals aren't working . Replaced the indicator relay and just tested it. They didn't work. But I hope it's because the taillight circuit wasn't closed. But we'll figure that out when we have working taillights. So I go there and turn it on. It's like deja vu, honestly. Is it glowing? Yes, it glows. Upper—yes. Aha. Speaking of exploding wires, we need to go back to the auto parts store for new heat shrink connectors because we spent all our money on these. I explained exactly to Logan how to connect it. I thought she did everything I said, we turned it on, and... The wire just took it and melted. I don't know. But in the end, everything worked out. Long story short , we burned about 18 heat shrink tubes, and that's 30 seconds of your life that you wo n't get back. Although, hey, it was half an hour of our lives that we will definitely never get back. So, the taillights are working. But with the turn signals still no signs of life. I was lying here under the car, breaking my back. Trying to figure this out. There's some weird [ __ ] going on there. I can't figure it out. I tracked down one switch. Its terminals were simply stuck in the connector and were dangling. I'm like, "What the hell? Why is this happening?" I don't know if that created a problem. And when I figured out where it was supposed to connect, it turned out to be the neutral switch . It must have been locked like that for a long time, because it's a car with steering wheel-mounted shifters, but...there was always a floor shifter there, even when I bought it. So someone did it to me. I'm tracing the 50-year-old wires back there. And here on top we have, damn it , a supercharger from about…
