In this video
Take your drain removal tool, such as a drain key or smart dumbbell, and insert it into the tub drain opening. If using a dumbbell, insert it through the drain and engage its tines with the strainer or crossbar. If using a drain key, turn it counter-clockwise until its expanding wings touch and grip the inner walls of the drain. Once the tool is engaged, clamp a wrench onto the nut on the key or insert a screwdriver through the dumbbell to act as a lever.
