To install the fully assembled fitting, first apply purple primer to one end of the existing pipe and the inside of the corresponding coupler. Follow with a coat of clear cement on both surfaces. Slide the fitting onto the pipe with a quarter-turn twisting motion. Next, apply primer and cement to the other pipe end and the inside of the telescoping part of the fitting. Telescope the fitting outward to cover the second pipe end, again using a quarter-turn twist. Hold the entire assembly firmly in place for at least 20-30 seconds to ensure a strong bond.
Goal: Glue the repair coupling in place
- Work quickly after applying cement, as it sets fast. Have everything ready before you start gluing.
