Using a MAPP gas torch, heat the joint where the copper pipe and fitting meet. Heat the fitting primarily, as this will draw the molten solder into the joint via capillary action. Continuously test the temperature by touching the solder to the joint on the side opposite the flame. Once the pipe is hot enough, the solder will melt and flow into the joint, creating a seal. Make a small hook on the end of your solder to help apply it all the way around the fitting. Allow the joint to cool completely without being disturbed.
