Once the new PRV is securely installed, slowly turn the main water supply back on. You will hear the pipes filling with water. Go back to the PRV and carefully inspect all connections for any drips or leaks. Also, check the faucet you left open upstairs; once water flows steadily, you can turn it off. If everything is dry, the installation is successful. If needed, the pressure can be adjusted using the screw on top of the PRV.
