After the main section is removed, carefully remove the remaining pieces of the old cast iron pipe and the lead seal from inside the hub. Use a combination of a hammer and chisels to break the lead and cast iron apart. A reciprocating saw can also be used to make relief cuts inside the hub, which helps in breaking the pieces out.
