Once the primer is dry, prepare the new drain assembly. If the new drain's threads are smaller than the drain pipe, use the included brass adapter. Apply a ring of plumber's putty to the underside of the new drain flange. Insert the new drain into the opening and use a drain wrench that fits the new crosshairs to tighten it. Screw it in until it is snug and the putty squeezes out evenly. Finally, insert the new pop-up or screen drain stopper into the fitting.
