Once you are satisfied with the dry fit of all the pieces, it's time for permanent installation. Apply a generous amount of polymer adhesive using a caulk gun to the subfloor of the landing area where the steps will sit, creating a strong bond. Additionally, apply wood glue to the tongue and groove edges of the winder step and extensions to ensure a strong, interlocked bond between the individual pieces. Carefully position and press the winder step into place, ensuring it's flush, followed by the winder step extensions. Secure the installed pieces by firing brads using a brad nailer around the outer edge, specifically in areas where they will be hidden by the next riser or the reinstalled skirting boards, ensuring a clean, nail-free visible surface.
