Step 3 · Apply Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner

Apply a pre-stain wood conditioner to all surfaces that will be stained. This product helps to equalize the porosity of the wood, preventing blotchiness and ensuring a more uniform color. Allow the conditioner to penetrate the wood for the time specified on the product label, typically 15-30 minutes. Wipe off any excess conditioner that has not been absorbed by the wood.
