Step 2 · Sand the Wood Surface

Sand the entire wooden surface, starting with a medium-grit sandpaper (e.g., 120-grit) to remove any imperfections and level the wood. Progress to a finer grit (e.g., 180 or 220-grit) to achieve a smooth finish. Always sand in the direction of the wood grain. After sanding, wipe down the surface with a tack cloth or a slightly damp rag to remove all dust.
