Step 3 · Removing the Toilet Bowl: Breaking the Wax Seal

This is the step most people slow down on. Take it one move at a time — there’s no rush, and you can rewind the clip as many times as you need.

Unscrew and remove the bolts securing the toilet bowl to the floor. Gently rock the toilet bowl to break the wax seal and lift it away from the flange. Remove and discard the old wax ring.
