Step 2 · Removing the Existing Toilet Tank

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Carefully disconnect the water supply line from the tank. Then, locate and remove the nuts holding the tank to the toilet bowl using an appropriate wrench or screwdriver. Gently lift the tank off the bowl.
