Step 2 · Remove the Old Shower Diverter Valve

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Carefully remove the old diverter valve. For push-button diverters, you might need to gently pry off the faceplate to access the screws. Once the screws are removed, unscrew the diverter valve itself.
