Step 3 · Disconnect Dishwasher Drain (if applicable)

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

If your dishwasher is connected to the disposal, carefully disconnect the drain line. This is typically a rubber hose secured by a clamp. Loosen the clamp and gently detach the hose.
