Step 2 · Disconnect the P-trap: Prevent Water Damage
This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.
Position a bucket beneath the P-trap to collect any potential spills. Carefully disconnect the P-trap from both the disposal and the drain line, using channel-lock pliers or a basin wrench as needed. Remove the P-trap from under the sink.
