Step 8 · Test Drain and Final Cleanup
Before replacing the cleanout plug, test the drain. Have a helper flush a toilet or run a faucet that uses the newly cleared line. Watch the open cleanout to ensure water is flowing freely past it and not backing up. Once confirmed, screw the cleanout plug back into the fitting and tighten it securely with your pipe wrench. Use the rags to clean up any water spills and disinfect the area.
