Step 6 · Remove Bladder and Verify Flow

With the water off and the bladder deflated, slowly and carefully pull the garden hose and bladder out of the cleanout opening. Be ready for some trapped water and unpleasant debris to spill out; guide the end of the hose directly into your bucket. To confirm the line is clear, have a helper flush a toilet on the upper floor while you observe the cleanout. You should see the water flow past without backing up. If the flow is good, screw the cap back onto the cleanout opening, using a pipe wrench if necessary. Clean your tools and the work area, and properly dispose of the soiled towels and rags.
