Step 3 · Insert the Bladder

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

With the water spigot still turned off, take the end of the hose with the bladder attached and begin feeding it into the main sewer line cleanout. Push the bladder deep into the pipe, aiming for a minimum depth of 12 inches. The goal is to ensure the entire bladder is well within the pipe and preferably past the first bend. This positioning is critical for it to inflate correctly, form a tight seal, and prevent it from being forced back out of the opening under pressure. Maintain a firm grip on the hose.
