Step 6 · Light the Pilot Light

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

While holding the gas control knob down, use a long lighter or match to ignite the pilot light. Keep the flame near the pilot light opening until it ignites.
