Step 3 · Remove the Old Fill Valve

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Remove the nut securing the old fill valve. Gently lift the old fill valve out of the tank. Inspect the old valve to identify the cause of the leak if possible.
