Step 2 · Disconnect Plumbing: Prepare for Removal
This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.
Place a bucket under the disposal to catch any remaining water. Disconnect the dishwasher drain line (if applicable) and the discharge pipe from the disposal unit. Use pliers to carefully loosen any slip nuts or clamps. If using a P-trap, disconnect it gently to avoid water spillage.
